Location: 6656 S. Atlantic Ave., New Smyrna Beach.
Open daily: Restroom facilities are available from within 1 hour of sunrise to within 1 hour of sunset. Parking is prohibited from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The West side of the Park is open. There in no Jetty access and there is no ADA access to the beach.
Admission: Free.
Experience the beauty of the beach and honor the African American heritage of Mary McLeod Bethune at Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park. This handicapped-accessible county park is located 3.5 miles south of New Smyrna Beach and 1 mile north of the Apollo Beach entrance to Canaveral National Seashore Park.
The beachfront area of the park offers amenities such as restrooms, large picnic pavilions, showers and nearly 800' of direct beachfront sidewalk that overlooks a remote and beautiful beach area. Across S. Atlantic Avenue, the riverside park area offers various recreational options like tennis, pickleball, basketball, and volleyball courts, a playground, fishing pier and restrooms.
This park is also an excellent location for viewing marine wildlife such as manatees, dolphins, and pelicans. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the area while also paying tribute to the legacy of Mary McLeod Bethune, the founder of Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach.
