Bulow Plantation Ruins, spanning over 150 acres, is a testament to the rise and fall of sugar plantations in Florida. Once a thriving plantation where the Bulow family grew sugar cane, cotton, rice, and indigo, the plantation was destroyed during the Second Seminole War in 1836. The ruins of the former plantation, including a sugar mill, a spring house, several wells, and the crumbling foundations of the plantation house and slave cabins, showcase the volatility of the Florida frontier in the early 19th century.

Take a scenic walking trail to the sugar mill ruins, listed on the National Register of Historic Sites, and explore the park's picnic facilities and interpretive center to learn more about the plantation's history. A boat ramp also provides access for canoes and small powerboats to scenic Bulow Creek, a designated state canoe trail. Don't miss the opportunity to fish from the dock or a boat.
